Puppy ID Tags – What should be On My Puppies ID Tag
When it comes to your Puppy ID Tags there are a few things to think about,What should be on my puppies ID Tag.

Puppy ID Tags
Firstly do you want your Labrador puppies name on the Tag. Most dog owners put the name of their puppy on it, I think this is a good idea. Some dog owners think this unwise because if the dog has been stolen they feel having the name of the puppy on the ID Tag will help the kidnapper form a bound with the dog.
If my puppy was lost and someone found her I would fell much happier knowing that, that person could use her name, but it is your personal choice.
What other details do you need to consider on your Puppy ID Tags.
A home address is a good idea, one tip that I have seen is to just put your house number and post code/ zip code onto the ID tag, this I thought was a great idea as the tags are quite small and you don’t have much room to put in a lot of details.
You will need a telephone number which one should you use, with so many people having mobile phones these days you could use this and my train of though is, a complete strangers might prefer to text you to tell you where you dog is rather than speaking to you. Also if you take your dog on day trips out of your local area and your dog escapes having your mobile / cell phone on the puppy ID Tags could be worth it’s weight in gold. Just imagine you have gone out for the day your dog wonders off and you can not find him or her, if you have your home phone number on the tag and they ring that number you are not at home to answer the call, but if on the other hand you have your mobile or cell phone with you not only will you be able to take the call, you are also in the right area to go and pick your dog up, so less time will be wasted and you will be reunited with your dog in a much shorter space of time.
Top Tip – If you do put your mobile/ cell phone number on your puppy ID Tag Remember if you change your Phone You Must Change your Puppies Tags.
If you do decided to use your home phone number please don’t just put your local number on it, remember also use your area code.
In different countries different rules do apply to dog tags, in some you need to add you dog licence Number. So do check this otherwise if you dog is found without this information you might be faced with a fine, this would be just a perfect finish to what will feel like an awfully long day, loosing your dog which is one of the worst feelings in the world and then to top it off having to pay a big fine.
I hope this information has been useful, if you have any other ideas please leave a comment.
