who do I contact if I’ve complained to my landlord and nothing has been done about a dog barking nonstop?
dancinqueen6t9 asked:
I’ve contacted my landlord numerous times about the neighbors dog barking all day long and nothing has been done about it. So who do I contact to go one step further to take care of the situation.
I have talked to the neighbor about it and the land lord. This has been going on for a couple of months and nothing has been done to fix it.

Sneak into the apartment with the dog and put some slipping pills in it’s food
If the dog is inside the apartment, and not being held outside, then local ordinances about barking dogs don’t apply. Check your lease and see what provisions are made for animals. It may well be that there is nothing against a barking dog.
There are noise ordinances even the property manager should adhere to, my suggestion is you go over the landlords head and try to contact the management company – if there is one. Most complexes have an onsite manager but that manager has a boss that works from a corporate or branch managment office. Usually the name of the management company is listed somewhere on the complex including the leasing sign for example – property managed by Trammell Crow. Most apartments have a website, on the website usually will list the management company and their address. If you locate it I would send a letter in writing and complain explain that nothing has been done to correct this.
Chances are if the neighbor is not home she is not aware that the dog is barking all day long.
Good luck

Depends what country you are in!!
In certain areas, there is a “disturbing the peace” law and you might fall in this category. Call you local police and find out.
Actually, you need to check your local landlord and tenant law. Most states say that if you put a request in writing they have two weeks to remedy the situation and if they don’t you can give a 30 day notice to vacate. I believe that this would fall under the noise ordinance. It may be a case of three strikes your out type of thing. The apartment might may have a policy that they have to get so many complaints before they can evict said owner and dog. Most states landlord and tenant acts can be found on the internet. This is going to require some research but if its done right either you will get to move or your neighbor does! Good Luck.
Well first of all you should talk to your neighbours about their constantly barking bark dog, or you could contact the police and see what they have to say about the matter? Noise is noise no matter what it is coming from, there is a thing called a noise ordinance by-law and it is in effect all day and all night. So even if it is 11am if it is disturbing you then they should do something about it. Hope my answer was helpful?
Call the code enforcement agency or the police…it is a nuisance noise issue.
there might be a disturbing peace law where you live so call your local police.
No disrespect but they pay to live there too and pay rent. You just got the bad end of the deal being the neighbor but you can’t really do much…sorry.
Offer to dog sit while the people are away and maybe the dog won’t bark all day/night. Or do as other people said and contact the authorities. The property management group and probably the police. I would continue to talk to your landlord as well.
Good luck, I sympathize with you.
