Bringing Your New Puppy Home – Puppy Car Safety
Yes today is the day you are bringing your new puppy home but you need to sort out puppy car safety.
Here is a short video that shows you the right way travel with your Labrador Puppy.
Firstly you need to sort out what time you will be bringing your new puppy home. Try and arrange to pick up your puppy in the morning, this will give you most of the day to settle your new puppy into your home. Talk to the breeder and find out what times puppy is fed and work out your times that way. It’s no good turning up to take your new puppy home just after it’s been fed you will be asking for trouble.
Please try not to be tempted into picking the kids up from school and then going to collect your lab puppy, if you do be prepared for a long night, plus you will have over excited kids in the car and you want the car to be as calm as possible.Excited kids and excited puppies are not a good combination.
So you know what time to pick up your puppy so lets get the car sorted.
Hopefully you have decided to buy a Lab Puppy crate or Lab Puppy Cage this is the perfect way to bring puppy home,it will make him feel safe and this is the safest way to bring your new puppy home. So what are you waiting for put it in the back of the car.
If you are going to use puppy toilet training pads it would be a great idea to line the puppy crate / cage with one of these.
If you haven’t got a puppy crate or cage try and borrow one it really will help. What ever you don’t just put a puppy in the car without any restrants, and never just have some one holding the puppy, this is really dangerous.
If you can’t get hold of a puppy cage or crate then you could us a sturdy card board box. If using this method I would take a friend with you to sit in the back with it. Make sure the sides are high enough so your puppy cant get out . The other option you have is dog car harness.
You might find that your puppy will protest, just ignore him. I always put some music on very quietly, Loretta always seemed to like Robbie Williams.
I hope this has helped you with Bringing Your New Puppy Home and Puppy Car Safety. If you have any questions please contact me. I would love a picture of your Labrador puppy to put on the site if you have one and would like to share it please send it in. I look forward to hearing from you.
