My puppy is leash trained when we walk, but when I try to run with him he refuses to move. What do I do?
I have a 7th month old lab mix. He’s leash trained from walking (although we’re still practicing stopping and sitting at every corner), but he won’t run. When I try to run with him, he just stops and refuses to move. I’ve tried easing in to pace. I’ve tried letting him get ahead of me and then running. Other than the fact that he’s scared of loud noises and my shoes hitting the ground make a loudish noise, I have no clue as to why he won’t run and no idea what to do. Any suggestions?

well since he is afraid of loud noises you should train him that not all loud noises are scary like when you run make it more of a game you could try and make him come to you by getting on your knees and calling his name then when he comes try to un so maybe he will chase you try t in your yard 1st so your not on the road but get him use t loud noises praise him when he becomes interested in them hope this helps
try to walk a little fast and let your dog get used to moving at a faster pace and keep on doing this until the dog feels comfortable running.
