Very normal for puppies ;) He needs to be taught bite inhibition in order to overcome this. Here’s a great article on how to teach him:

Usually puppies bite a lot, and you can buy some chew toys for it to bite on so, it won’t bite you.

Is he teething? If he is, you should buy some teething toys for him.

Here’s some teething toys:

you should give him some toys. you should get him some bones. chew toys are good, but if they have flavor, like bones, then he’ll most likely keep biting those instead of becoming bored with the regular chew toys.

Smack him lightly on the nose and yell very firmly “NO” every time he does it. Worked for my puppy. And you have to do it EVERY time or he won’t get the message.

Water bottle and ****** him on the **** or side to let him know that it is a no-no. Also say No and turn away from him. When he shows that you can come up to him and he does not nip then give a treat and praise! Puppies are natural little nippers but when they get bigger and not shown this is not a funny thing, can cause a major problem.

Mouthing and biting are natural, normal behaviors; all puppies do it. During teething (generally starting around four months), the urge to mouth is extra powerful because it feels good on your pups’ tender gums. Lacking opposable thumbs, puppies also use their mouths to catch, carry, and play, making it all the more crucial that they learn how to control themselves in the presence of human skin.

Puppies chewing is totally natural. They are just like teething babies. Bitter lemon spray can be great but doesn’t work for all dogs – some actually like the taste!

For quick and easy alternatives

The best thing to do to stop nipping and mouthing is to let out a puppy like yelp, this immediately makes the puppy back away as it is what her litter mates would do. Its a way to let them know that it hurts. They won’t understand all the no’s and putting them in another room etc. When they nip, you yelp then turn your back on them (get visitors to do the same) they will soon get the message of ‘ouch that hurts and i am not playing because of it’ Try this link for a full guide.

You should also teach your puppy the ‘leave it’ command this is not only for objects but also helps them control their bite inhibition (become more aware of how people like to be interacted with). This will show you how (its really easy)

Puppies also bite and mouth because they are teething and is heavily linked to chewing. So relieve the pain a bit with these quick fixes and you should see an improvement

Hope this helps :D
