Puppy Training – Biting is Not the End of the World

Puppy training and biting go hand in mouth. Kinda corny but I thought it was funny. I spend a good 4 weeks trying to teach my puppy to stop biting. He would bite anyone who came over and spend all his free time chewing on anything left on the floor or less than 2 feet above it. I was seriously at the end of my rope.

I did exactly what you are doing right now. I figured I could come online and figure out how to get him to stop biting. I spent 3 full days putting together my master plan. I visited every free site I could find to come up with my master strategy. Finally I thought I had all the kinks worked out and decided to put it to the test.

After 3 weeks of trying everything I could think of or read about I had made absolutely no progress. In fact I think he was biting more then before I started. I then decided to visit some online forums for dog training and get some advice from some “experts”. I think that a lot of those people are crazier than their pets. Some of the suggestions I received ranged from muzzling the dog to dressing him up in bright colors to get him to stop biting.

Needless to say I didn’t take any advice from any of those people. I finally broke down and bought 2 different programs online that promised to get my puppy to stop biting once and for all. To be honest with you I think my strategy that I made up worked better than what those people were selling. I had finally had it.
