The Food for Labrador puppy – the first food you give to your Labrador puppy when it first arrives and
This Is Very Important you MUST use the same food the breeder has been feeding your Lab puppy for at least the first few day, otherwise you will be faced with problems.
If you change the food for Labrador Puppy to quickly you will be face with your puppy suffering from

You can change to a different type of food but you need to introduce the new puppy food over a few days.
So lets put this into steps
Day 1 – On the first day of changing your puppies food, make sure you have plenty of the old dog food left.
Add three quarters of their old food, and one quarter of the new food.
Day 2 – Again Add three quarters of their old food, and one quarter of the new food.
Day 3 – Add in another quarter, so you have half old food, half new food
Day 4 – Half the old food and half the new puppy food
Day 5 - Then add in a third quarter (one quarter old, three quarters new)
Day 6 – one quarter old, three quarters new puppy food
Day 7 – Your puppy should now be completely on the new food

Comments on Food for Labrador puppy
i am a bit nervous, we have been looking for a puppy/young dog for a bit now with the kids, 16,14,12,10… my husband and i came across a lab puppy who will be ready for Christmas. i know everyone says this is not the right time to get a pup but this one kind of fell into our laps!! the kids do not know about the pup and we are to pick him up on the 20th, would love to have him as a gift but where do we keep him till the 25th?? could i call the vets and would they put him up .. is that even the thing to do?? thanks.
The only thing you could do is ask the breeder to look after it for longer, I don't think it would be good for the puppy to be taken to too many places when it is young. Christmas day would not be a good day to introduce such a young pup
