A bad dog digging habit can be very trying on your nerves. After all, just because you own a dog, it doesn’t mean that you don’t want to enjoy your garden or have a yard that is free of holes. Unfortunately, some dogs seem to feel that all yards should have as many craters as the moon!
It’s important to arm yourself with effective techniques to stop dog digging before you feel as though you’ll lose your mind entirely. Certainly, you might already feel as though you’ve tried everything there is to try, but if dog digging continues to be a problem then you’ve simply not found the proper technique for discouraging the behavior.
Discovering the true source of the dog digging is the key to putting a stop to it. This requires you to watch and learn from what your dog is doing when the digging begins.
There are two major causes that make a pet begin dog digging: loneliness and boredom. Fortunately, when you deal with one of these problems, you’re also dealing with the other one. Give your dog lots of attention on a daily basis, and play with him or her, including games that you both enjoy together. Make sure that there are toys that you can leave in the yard that your dog will enjoy playing with whether or not you’re there.
If it isn’t loneliness or boredom, you might find that your dog is digging for a purpose, such as to investigate the other side of a fence. Many things could be attracting your dog, such as children, food, or activities and smells on the other side of the fence. In that case, you might want to lay some bricks down along the ground in the offending areas to discourage the behavior.
Should dog digging holes be popping up all over the yard for no particular reason and in no specific pattern, the problem may be too much energy. Solve this with more exercise such as more walks or longer walks. If that’s not enough, add some high-energy playtime including fetch, Frisbee, or other games that involve a lot of running and jumping.
Don’t forget to help to discourage your dog from being interested in the favorite dog digging spots by sprinkling red or cayenne pepper on the area, or banging a pot or making another startling noise when your dog intends to begin a new dig. You might even find that a ****** of water every time the dog digging starts might be deterrent enough.
You should always take care of the problem before it breaks out as a huge disorder. Sometimes common methods for dog digging prevention simply fail to work. Instead of giving up on your dog you should seek proper training for ending unwanted behavior.

When you have new pet dogs or puppies, you have to train them on how to use the crate. There are few very handy tips that you can use or apply. For most experts, dog crate training is done for the best interest of your new pet dogs or puppies. This task is very simple and easy as long as you are consistent with how you do it. The key is being consistent with your new pet or puppies. It will be beneficial for your dog transport when you travel.
But then what is a dog crate? It is a cage made of wire or molded plastic. The purpose is to provide confinement for reasons of safety, security, housebreaking, and protection of household goods. It is also use for their travel and when they are ill or sick. At first you may think that it is inhumane and being mean to your pet dogs or puppies. During the first time you will use it, it might cause your pet dogs to resent the crate and you. However, pet dogs view things differently so no need to worry.

On the initial stages of the training, do not let them stay too long on the crate. Always make sure too, that whenever you got home, let them out to urinate and relax. It will be rewarding for both you and pet dogs once they are used to the crate.
Always remember to ensure that your pet dogs and puppies have access to food and water while they are in the crate. And make sure they have enough water while you are away.
Once your pet dogs or puppies are well trained to be in a crate, you will not have any problem travelling with your pets. Dog crate training is very essential for your dog transport purposes as well as when you put them on a transport dog crates.

Your Lab Puppy Pictures this is Smokey
Our black male Labrador, Smokey, is too gorgeous. He is such a quick
learner. He obviously chews a lot, but with your tips he is learning very
quickly not to chew on my toes or trousers. He has alot of toys and rubber
chew toys. When we play with him and throw a ball he brings it back to us.
When we call him he runs to us. We have a female boxer and two cats. Even
from the first day he was introduced to them, all of them excepted him. I
was so relieved.

Puppy training actually begins the moment you bring a new puppy into your home. The first week is very important. Everyone in the family needs to be on the same page when it comes to the routine, responsibility and rules that will be set for the newest member of the family. The first few days in your puppy’s new home are extremely important and will be a time of much excitement and joy. However, remember your new puppy has just been taken away from the only place he has ever known and is very vulnerable and impressionable. You have to set up a routine and rules from the start. Puppies are very smart and will learn very quickly.
First you need to set up a special place for the newest member of your home. Puppies need security and a set routine. Set up a small room to be their own special safe place for the next couple of weeks or so. Make sure you paper the entire floor and put down food and water bowls, a bed and scatter plenty of toys around.
Try playing with your puppy quietly and gently. If your pup seems to be tired, leave him alone in his special place and let him sleep. Puppies are like babies, they need lots of sleep. We all know that puppies are chewing machines. That is why it is important to have plenty of chew toys around for them to use. When you see the pup start to chew on your furniture or a shoe, immediately grab one of their toys and get the pup’s attention. When the pup starts to play and chew on its toy make sure to praise them profusely. This shows them that you are happy with what they are doing. This shows them that when they do certain things which make you happy they will receive attention. You want to reward the good behavior and not the bad.
Puppies have to be watched over very closely for the first few days until they figure out what their boundaries are. They have to be shown what is acceptable to be chewed on and what is not. They are just doing what comes naturally and don’t know any better. If you are not available to watch over them make sure they don’t have access to places where they can get into trouble. This is where a baby gate can come in handy if you want the pup to be around the family during the day but out of harm’s way.
Routines are especially important to establish with your puppy. Having a set routine gives your puppy security and helps to keep him calm and not fearful. If you and other family members will be gone during the day or on certain nights you need to get the pup accustomed to being alone. Every time the puppy whines resist the urge to comfort him.
One of the first things to take care of after the puppy is settled into its new home is to make an appointment with your veterinarian. Make sure to do this right away and to set up the schedule for vaccinations. Vaccinations are very important because puppies are susceptible to many canine diseases. If you establish a routine and rules from the start, everyone, including your puppy, will be able to form a bond that will last a lifetime. There is nothing worse than an aggressive puppy. You try to speak sweet and he/she gets aggressive. You try to raise your voice to let the puppy know who is in charge. And, still, no adjustment in behavior. Aggression in Lab puppies is something that has to be taken care of right away. Left untreated, aggression in a Lab puppy can snowball into a situation where you are no longer in control. Don’t be embarrassed by your Lab’s aggression. Know the signs so that you can turn the aggression around and be in control. Don’t be a victim of embarrassment; or even worse – injury! The common sign of aggression in Lab puppies are:
• Growling when a human approaches their food. Typically, the Lab puppy will snarl or growl when a human walks towards their food or tries to move the food bowl
• Excessive nipping even when told to stop. If you have put your finger up and told him/her no firmly, they should stop nipping immediately
• Raised tail during human interaction. If you or another human is playing with the Lab puppy and he/she has a raised tail, this could mean that they are not having fun but yet in defense mode
• Revealing his/her teeth when other humans come around. If another human being approaches your Lab puppy and he/she reveals their teeth, they are defensive against strangers. This could turn into severe aggression down the road
• Possessiveness of toys. If the Lab puppy does not let you near their toys or he/she hides them, this could be a sign of aggression
• Curled Lips. Lab puppies will not curl their lips upwards unless they are feeling aggressive.
